Basil was born at a stone's throw from today's office location at the Römerhof “Pflegi” nurse school, in 1969. Like his father before him, he studied architecture at the ETH Zurich and graduated in 1996.
His years of travel took him to Leipzig, Bern and eventually back to Zurich in 2000, where he founded his own office. In parallel with the work at the office he engaged in teaching and research at his Alma Mater for 7 years – at first with his former professor Mario Campi, then with Prof. Dietmar Eberle. Apart from leading the firm, Basil is responsible for clients consulting and project development as well as architectural design, which he then realizes together with Simon and the team.
During childhood, Basil was a hobby ornithologist as well as a swimmer at national level. He is married and lives with his family in Zurich.
